Will iDVD encode faster or the same speed...?

i waited 6 hours for a video, 2 and a half hours, i made on imovie. after 5 hours and 42minutes it "quit unexpectedly" and now i must do it all over again. Do you think i'll have to wait the full 6 hours all over again or will it already be encoded?
