Global warming/Texas winter question?

Alright, so the roads are iced over in Texas causing us to miss two days of school and a third day tomorrow. Some Conservative kid (being in Texas and all..) just posted a status that said, "Hey Al Gore, how bout that global warming?", then commented it later saying "Vote Republican!" Don't get me wrong, I never really liked Al Gore, and I'm not a global warming expert, but isn't the snowy/cold winter in usually warm climates (even though Texas does get cold every year, although no one here wants to believe it does cause we're SOO HOT DURING THE SUMMER), mean that global warming actually does exist?
