Did any of the western powers attack constantinople i the 1900s before WWI?

I'm doing an essay on the fall of the Ottoman empire, and i remember reading that like the french and british attacked and destroyed the city some time in the early 1900s. I have no idea why or what happened, but if anyone knows please let me know.
