Wife & this young guy?

This comes down to dignity. I feel for you. He's a young buck ogling your woman. She pre menopausal, which means her hormones are raging, which by the way means she is not in her right mind right now, and she may unconsciously see him as her last fling. When he challenges you your only option is to be good natured about it and to be COMPLEMENTARY toward your wife, but you must answer the challenge. He has a lot of life to live, but you are your wife are coming to where your life should be settled and grounded. He's not thinking of repercussions, he only sees her as she is now, but you know in your wisdom the changes she will undergo as she ages. So to protect you and your wife, you have to be the hero in this situation and accept what is going on but protect yourself and your lovely wife.No one wants to accept old age, but it is a reality. Protect her, or she's going to be really hurt.
