Were those who were kicked out of the military because they were gay given a dishonorable discharge?

If they were, should they now be able to get their pensions since DADT was repealed? Also, if they got a dishonorable discharge, then how can they do as Obama suggested and re-enlist. You can't get back in the military with a dishonorable discharge can you?
