My car is running high on RPM and making noises when the RPM reaches 3 or higher?

my car did that sorta. my car also wouldnt go faster than 30mph no matter how hard i hit the gas. but it was RPMing really high. it turned out to be the transmission.

We recently stayed in Melb and the apartment had extension cords running everywhere to get us power as the mains had blown and they couldnt fix it. It was very dangerous with kiddies, they couldnt get another room for us and we couldnt book anywhere else at short notice. They refused to give us a discounted rice for such a faulty room.

Is it really necessary to insure an item by post when sending packages through royalmail/parcelforce etc? These couriers charge extra for additional insurance, but as I understood it, if they damage or lose an item in transit, by law theyd be liable for it anyway. Am i correct?
